We are delighted to be working in partnership with our client in Newbury, seeking a dynamic and experienced SEND Children Services Manager to join their team. Our client is dedicated to providing high-quality services to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring their needs are met and their outcomes are optimised. They are committed to a collaborative and multi-agency approach, working closely with families, schools, and other stakeholders.

Role Overview:
As the SEND Children Services Manager, you will play a key role within the Children Services Senior Management Team (SMT) in planning and implementing SEND & Inclusion delivery plans. You will lead and manage a team, working in partnership with Educational Psychologists. Your responsibilities will include the strategic development of multi-disciplinary services in line with government legislation and West Berkshire Council's approach to SEN, Mental Health, and Wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be part of the Children Services Senior Management Team, contributing to the planning and implementation of SEND & Inclusion delivery plans.
- Lead and manage a team, working in partnership with Educational Psychologists.
- Create and develop strategic multi-disciplinary developments in line with government and West Berkshire Council's approach to SEN, Mental Health, and Wellbeing.
- Work in partnership with the Local Authority and external agencies to ensure a streamlined approach to the delivery and implementation of projects.
- Work in partnership with schools to ensure effective service delivery and project implementation.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with relevant government legislation.
- Contribute to the strategic development of policies and procedures related to SEND.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND services, identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Represent the organisation at relevant meetings and forums.
Candidate Requirements:
- Must hold a Psychology qualification.
- Proven track record of service delivery in Social Care.
- Strong commitment to working in partnership with the Local Authority and external agencies.
- Experience in working in partnership with schools.
- In-depth knowledge of government legislation related to SEND.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex information and make sound decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in IT.
- Must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car.
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
