Hedge Fund Analyst

Event Driven Analyst (US Focus) – Urgent Platinum & Partners has been asked by our client who is a leading financial services firm to identify a high-calibre Event Driven Analyst to join their London-based team. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a top-tier equity markets division that services a global institutional client base, including hedge funds and asset managers.
Monitor and evaluate US-focused event-driven situations with hard and soft catalysts, with emphasis on merger arbitrage
Track and interpret breaking news, press releases and deal announcements in real-time
Produce concise updates and analysis for internal teams and institutional clients
Attend corporate events and conferences as needed
Undertake fundamental equity valuation and financial modelling
Collaborate with internal Long/Short and Index Event teams to share intelligence and trading ideas
Participate in ad hoc project work and research assignments as required
Minimum of two years\’ post-training experience in investment banking or similar analytical role
Exposure to event-driven, M&A, or private equity situations is highly desirable
Strong Excel skills; Background in financial modelling and valuation analysis
