Key Responsibilities:

As an approved Aircraft Component Fitter, you will play a vital role in the manufacture of high-precision aircraft components. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking all aspects of detail fitting, such as riveting, drilling, and sealing, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
  • Using handheld and air-powered tools to work with small to medium-sized precision components.
  • Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings to ensure components meet exact specifications.
  • Performing all duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining compliance with master processes and industry standards.
  • Collaborating with the Team Leader to understand production plans, achieve objectives, and meet deadlines.
  • Maintaining accurate records to uphold traceability and ensure quality control.
  • Contributing to and implementing 6S improvements within the workplace.
  • Adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and legislation.
  • Undertaking training and development initiatives assigned by the Team Leader or Senior Management.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Grade C (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English.
  • 3+ years’ experience in fitting and assembly, with a preference for aerospace experience.
    • Candidates from other sectors with transferable skills will also be considered.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings and working within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
  • Skilled in using a variety of tools, including drills, rivet milling equipment, and assembly measuring instruments.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to use MS Office applications effectively.

  • Work Schedule:
    • A 4-day working week (Monday to Thursday, 07:15 am to 5:00 pm, totalling 37 hours weekly).
    • Overtime available at premium rates from Friday to Sunday.
  • Pay and Allowances:
    • Overtime rates:
      • Fridays and Saturdays: 1.5x your basic hourly rate.
      • Sundays: 2.0x your basic hourly rate.
