I’m currently working with a growing engineering business looking for an experienced Estimator to join their Machine Shop team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in engineering, manufacturing, CNC machining or estimating who can interpret technical drawings and understand machining processes.
The role:
- Interpret customer requirements from CAD, technical drawings, specifications and models.
- Prepare detailed quotations and bids for subcontract machining and metal finishing.
- Work closely with Purchasing and the Machine Shop to establish accurate costs and lead times.
- Review margins and make informed bid/no-bid decisions.
- Support Production Control and Sales Order Processing with new orders and ERP input.
- Work alongside Business Development to provide customer updates on delivery dates and work in progress.
Minimum role requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience within engineering, manufacturing, estimating or engineering business development.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining/manufacturing.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret CAD and engineering drawings.
- Engineering background gained through an apprenticeship, academic route or time-served experience.
Location: Weybridge
Salary: £35-45k DOE
