Test Equipment Engineer | Cambridge | Outside IR35 Contract
Our client is seeking an experienced Test Equipment Engineer to support the design, development and delivery of automated production test systems for complex electronic products.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, validating and supporting automated test equipment throughout the product lifecycle.
You'll also provide technical support to manufacturing, troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and validate automated production test equipment.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Evaluate, optimise and debug automated test systems and associated hardware.
- Support manufacturing with fault finding, root cause analysis and production test improvements.
- Investigate production issues and implement solutions to improve product quality and manufacturing yield.
Requirements
- Experience designing, developing and delivering automated test equipment.
- Strong understanding of electronic measurement techniques and test principles.
- Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, network analysers, power supplies and digital multimeters.
- Knowledge of automated test systems and standard instrument communication protocols.
- Experience working across the full product development lifecycle.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills with a methodical approach to problem solving.
