An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business supporting a global customer base. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will play a key role in leading day to day activities, product improvement, customisation projects, and technical support activities across a varied product portfolio. This position would suit a proactive engineer who enjoys a mix of leadership, design, problem solving, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead product enhancement and customisation projects from concept through to release
  • Provide day to day leadership of the design team
  • Manage engineering changes, technical documentation, and drawing updates
  • Produce 2D and 3D CAD models
  • Support manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and production teams with technical queries
  • Carry out prototype development, testing, and validation activities
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA activities, and engineering investigations

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring engineers
  • Strong 2D and 3D CAD modelling experience
  • Good understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
  • Experience supporting engineering change processes and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development
  • Experience with FEA, hydraulics, pneumatics, or control systems would be advantageous
