As part of continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Baseband Engineer to play a key role in the design and development of next-generation hardware platforms. This position sits within a highly skilled baseband hardware team and offers full lifecycle involvement, from early concept and specification through detailed design, verification, and product release. The Role The Senior Baseband Engineer will take technical ownership of significant subsystems and features within complex communication products. The role requires a hands-on engineer who is comfortable operating in regulated environments, contributing to both detailed hardware design and system-level verification. You will collaborate closely with verification, software, RF, and mechanical teams, contributing to robust, compliant designs used in demanding real-world conditions. Key Responsibilities Design intrinsic safety (IS) circuitry for ATEX-certified products, including current-limiting, infallible connections, encapsulation, and thermal management. Develop microprocessor-based systems integrating multiple sensors such as accelerometers, magnetometers, gyroscopes, proximity sensors, and barometers. Design efficient, low-power power-supply architectures suitable for harsh operating environments. Design and validate audio amplifier circuits up to 10 W, optimised for clarity, efficiency, and reliability. Lead design verification and system-level testing, including EMC compliance activities. Diagnose non-conformances and implement corrective design solutions. Produce clear, structured engineering documentation including specifications, design descriptions, and compliance artefacts.
