An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative product development company. The company specialises in the design and development of electro-mechanical scientific instrumentation, taking products from initial concept through to full-scale production.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, leading the transfer of R&D concepts through to manufacturable products as well as factory testing activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by working on cutting-edge R&D projects and optimising concepts for seamless manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take R&D concepts to a manufacturable product
  • Ensure designs are optimised for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFMA)
  • Lead factory acceptance testing
  • 3D CAD design
  • Build and test prototypes
  • Work closely with a cross-functional R&D team across electronics, software, and systems
  • Participate in design reviews, problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong background in developing electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience in taking a product to manufacture is a must
