My client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer, is looking for a CNC Setter / Operator to join its production team. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist with a strong background in CNC lathes and milling machines, working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Manufacture components to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Inspect completed work and ensure accuracy throughout production
- Load and unload materials using lifting equipment
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient work area
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes
- Work collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines
Requirements
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines
- Good understanding of Fanuc-controlled systems preferred
- Ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Experience inspecting and measuring own work
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Ability to manage workload effectively in a target-driven environment
- Apprentice trained or engineering qualification preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience within a relevant field
