NPI Engineer Industry: Electro-mechanical scientific instruments Salary: £50,000–£55,000 Location: Cambridgeshire An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced NPI Engineer to join a well-established and innovative engineering business developing complex, high-reliability electro-mechanical scientific instruments. The company takes products from early development through to full-scale manufacture and operates within highly regulated environments. This is a fantastic role for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and quality, playing a key role in ensuring new products are introduced into production efficiently, reliably, and at scale. Key Responsibilities: * Lead NPI activities from development through to production * Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to industrialise new products * Translate designs into robust, repeatable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes * Develop and validate assembly processes, tooling, fixtures, and test methods * Drive DFM/DFA and process risk assessments * Analyse build data and production metrics to improve yield and performance Skills & Experience Required: * Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) * Strong experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering * Proven background taking products from development into production * Solid understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing process development * Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly and test processes * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications If you’re looking to join a forward-thinking engineering organisation where you can have a real impact on how new products are brought to market, apply with a copy of your CV
