A global leader in high-performance technology is seeking an Electronics Design Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving hardware design from initial concept through to successful high-volume manufacturing within a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a functional team of engineers, including junior members and senior leads, to deliver robust electronics architecture across the full product lifecycle.
- Take full accountability for all electronic aspects of the product line, ensuring designs are documented and adhere to strict quality systems.
- Implement DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) processes to ensure a robust supply chain and efficient production.
- Define technology roadmaps, develop system architectures, and manage departmental budgets to meet evolving market requirements.
Technical Requirements
- Proven expertise in complex PCB design, multi-layer boards, and hardware platforms featuring FPGA, DSP, and embedded processors.
- Deep technical knowledge of both digital and analogue electronics, including real-time control loops and high-voltage drive for specialised devices.
- Extensive experience managing programmes in an agile environment, from requirements elicitation to validation testing and qualification.
- Strong understanding of safety and EMC standards to ensure all designs meet relevant environmental and certification requirements.

- Significant background in the telecommunications sector with a track record of delivering complex products under demanding timescales.
- Expert-level skills in production support, root cause analysis, and implementing DFA (Design for Assembly) processes.
