We are working with a trusted and innovative engineering firm known for its cutting-edge product development across secure communications and advanced RF systems. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an RF Design Engineer to join their talented team and play a key role in the design, development, and testing of next-gen RF products.
Main Responsibilities:
- RF Design & Development: Design RF system architecture and run simulations. Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer. Evaluate new technologies for feasibility and product fit. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- Testing & Technical Support: Troubleshoot hardware and system-level issues. Test and debug RF designs. Support production and lead design reviews.
- Documentation & Communication: Estimate tasks and highlight risks to project leads. Lead technical reviews and create design documentation. Communicate effectively across engineering disciplines.
Skills Needed:
- Proven experience in a similar RF design role.
- Hands-on knowledge of PCB tools (Altium Designer preferred) and RF simulation software.
- Experience with high-power wideband RF amplifier design (up to 200W using GaN/LDMOS).
- Understanding of RF filters, transmitters, receivers, LNAs, converters, and antennas.
- Familiarity with analogue/digital electronics and EMC principles.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum/network analysers.
- Practical skills in prototype testing and rework.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and team player attitude.
Education & Requirements:
- Degree-qualified in Electronics, RF, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent work experience).
- Must be a British Citizen or eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
