Our client works within the special-purpose machinery space and an opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join the Engineering function. The successful candidate will work as part of the Electrical Engineering and Automation team and report directly to the relevant Team Leader.

The Role:

  • Develop both conceptual and detailed electrical designs for machinery used in industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Create and implement advanced control systems incorporating variable speed drives, PLCs, and industrial communication networks.
  • Translate technical specifications into fully realised designs, including comprehensive schematic documentation and complete bills of materials maintained within the company’s ERP platform.
  • Ensure designs are optimised for efficient manufacture and assembly.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; relevant practical experience will also be considered.
  • Detailed experience of EPLAN.
  • Strong understanding of core engineering principles, including the interpretation and development of electrical schematics and associated symbols.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry standards, including EN 60204 and EN 13849.
  • Effective communication skills with a collaborative approach and a proactive team-oriented mindset.
