Firmware Contractor | Cambridge | Hybrid

A medical device team in Cambridge is looking for a firmware contractor with wireless integration experience to join their team on a long-term contract developing embedded software for connected devices.

The role requires 2 days a week onsite in Cambridge, and will run for 24 months

Requirements: Embedded C/C++ proficiency on bare metal & RTOS platforms Hands-on experience with STM32 microcontrollers and embedded debugging.

Proven delivery of low-power firmware for battery-operated devices.

Experience with GNSS, Lo Ra or Lo Ra WAN, embedded peripherals

Bonus skills: Experience with u-blox's newer GNSS architectures.

Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analysers, multimeters, and J-Link or ST-Link.

Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Ability to read hardware schematics and PCB layouts.

Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Git Hub Copilot or comparable tools.
