Platform Recruitment has partnered with a high-tech engineering company specialising in the development of precision opto-mechanical products, who are seeking a Development Engineer to join their innovative R&D team. The company develops advanced products for multiple industries, offering solutions that range from precision opto-mechanical assemblies to industrial and scientific applications. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design and development of next-generation products, working from concept through to production in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop opto-mechanical products
- Conduct optical, mechanical, and environmental testing
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation
- Design and build jigs, fixtures, & manufacturing setups
- Undertake engineering changes and support product transfer to production
- Work with suppliers to source components and ensure manufacturing feasibility
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Physics, Photonics or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in 3D CAD design software
- Basic understanding of optical principles
- Have a hands on and practical skillset building and testing prototypes
- Experience in precision design and assembly
- Understanding of material properties, tolerances, and stress analysis
