An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a specialist engineering business delivering bespoke special purpose machinery solutions. The company designs and installs complex engineered systems for manufacturing environments, managing projects from initial concept through to installation and commissioning. This is a highly customer-facing role, combining technical understanding with strong project delivery and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of projects from order through to final customer acceptance
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans
- Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain strong customer relationships
- Translate customer requirements into clear engineering briefs for design teams
- Coordinate with design engineers to ensure accurate CAD models and manufacturing packs
- Specify mechanical components including conveyors, motors, and pneumatic systems
- Support on-site installation and commissioning activities
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience managing projects within capital equipment, industrial automation, or special purpose machinery environments
- Strong technical background in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
- Experience delivering full project lifecycle from concept through to commissioning
- Understanding of mechanical systems including conveyors, pneumatics, and fabricated structures
- Familiarity with CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred)
- Willingness to travel both in the UK and internationally when needed
