A specialist engineering manufacturer supplying safety-critical equipment is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of regulated products from concept through to production and testing. This is a senior, hands-on role working to published standards and internal design processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical products for safety-critical applications
- Produce detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Support product testing, validation, and technical documentation
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and external test houses
- Manage external design and test resources where required
- Support products through manufacture and into service
Requirements
- Strong background in mechanical design engineering
- Experience taking products from concept through to production (NPI)
- Proficiency in CAD (CREO/ProE or similar)
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, rubber moulding, machining, and fabrication
- Familiarity with DFM, DFMEA, and design control processes
- Comfortable working in regulated or safety-critical environments
Desirable
- Experience with pneumatics, instrumentation, or test fixtures
- Surface modelling experience
- Experience using CAD data management systems
