My client, a leading organisation within the space and advanced technology sector, is looking for an Electronics Buyer to support procurement activities across high-spec engineering projects. This role focuses on sourcing electronic components while working closely with engineering and project teams in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure electronic components including PCBs, semiconductors, and sensors
- Interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications to support purchasing decisions
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle from RFQ to delivery and supplier follow-up
- Identify and onboard new suppliers in line with quality and compliance standards
- Maintain accurate ERP/MRP system data (pricing, lead times, sourcing)
- Support engineering teams with obsolescence, alternatives, and technical queries
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and purchase orders with suppliers
Requirements
- Previous experience in a procurement or buying role (electronics or engineering preferred)
- Understanding of electronic components and lifecycle management
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, IFS)
- Ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Good technical and commercial awareness
