About the Role: The Partnerships Director, Entertainment is a key commercial role responsible for driving revenue growth across Platform Media's slate of shows. It requires a dynamic, results-driven sales leader with a proven track record in podcast sponsorship, branded entertainment and brand partnerships. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CCO), the Partnerships Director will play a key role in continuing Platform Media's expanding client base, securing long-term deals and shaping the team's commercial success. This role will own the proactive outreach strategy for our biggest entertainment shows, ensuring brands are aware of the latest availabilities and sponsorship opportunities.
The 'Entertainment' shows currently on the slate include: The Romesh Ranganathan Show, Wanging On, Wolf and Owl, Bottoms Up, The Buckleys, Joe Marler Will See You Now, Hanging Out with Ant & Dec, Olivia's House and The Luxury Dispatch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, pitch and secure podcast partnerships, sponsorships, and social branded entertainment deals to drive revenue growth.
- Take ownership of the full sales cycle, from lead generation to negotiation and contracting.
- Lead high-value negotiations and oversee deal structures, ensuring sustainable and repeat business to hit and exceed revenue targets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling sales collateral, proposals, and presentations.
- Represent Platform Media in high-level agency meetings, pitches, industry events.
Stakeholder & Partner Management:
- Proactively develop relationships with brands and key decision-makers.
- Develop and build meaningful long-lasting relationships with stakeholders at agencies and key clients, continuing to expand Platform Media's presence directly with brands.
- Work with show talent to ensure Platform are aware of the latest commercial partnerships and share with wider team.
Commercial Insights & Awareness:
- Provide insights on pricing, market positioning and competitive landscape to inform Platform Media's commercial strategy.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, proactively identify and generate new revenue opportunities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Excellent presenter with a successful track record in selling podcasts, sponsorship and social branded content partnerships to media agencies and clients.
- Strong network of brand contacts across multiple industries.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver compelling sales presentations.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth media environment, with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
- An expert understanding of digital platforms and audience-driven content strategies (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Podcasts).
- Knowledge of Advertising Regulations that apply to social and podcasts.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders ensuring seamless execution of commercial partnerships.
- The ability to focus on the detail while also keeping the big picture in mind.
- Experience managing and updating a revenue pipeline and CRM system.
