About The Role:
We’re looking for a Planning Manager with a passion for sports to join us at Platform Media. This role is instrumental to our Commercial team and will be the go-to-contact across our slate of sports shows, including; The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, The Good, The Scaz & The Rugby, The Good, The Bad & The Football and Fight Your Corner. The roster is expected to grow, and this role will grow with it. The Planning Manager will create innovative, engaging and commercially compelling solutions for commercial partners. This is an exciting opportunity to drive revenue across our slate of original IP while acting as a critical conduit between partners, production, editorial and talent management. We’re looking for someone to bring excellent communication skills to drive forward both brand objectives and the company’s premium storytelling standards. You will be responsible for proactive planning, commercial insights, creating key sales collateral, creating pricing structures and leading in response to briefs from media agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactive Commercial Planning: Lead on the commercial strategy for each of our individual shows. Own and manage both the prospect lists and pipeline for each of the shows, liaising with the sales team to make sure the documents are fully up to date. Stay on top of industry trend reports and insights to constantly evolve our offering. Identify key partners for each of our shows based on competitor insights, key spending category brands and pre-existing brand partnerships for talent involved. Liaise with talent agents on any commercial opportunities, confirm brand approvals and manage any brand exclusions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Act as the pivotal link between editorial, production and commercial. Develop and grow relationships with key internal stakeholders, particularly producers and exec producers to understand the latest status and future plans for each Platform Media show. Partner with strategic commercial partners (e.g. Spotify) to support and identify opportunities for Platform Media shows.
- Development and Ownership of Sales Collateral: Liaise with producers to create and keep up to date key sales material including; a sales deck, media plan and flyer for each of our shows. Based on availability and timelines, refresh and update commercial packages regularly. Support the sales team with insights, strategy, creative and competitive packages both proactively and in response to briefs.
- Response to Briefs: Work closely and collaboratively with the Commercial Team in owning and crafting proposals for briefs sales team receive from media agencies across social branded content & podcast partnerships. Create competitive and innovative media plans to accompany our creative responses to win new business. Proactively use your own network of contacts to introduce and explain the benefits of working with Platform Media.
