Social media is central to how we grow, monetise and reach audiences across our portfolio of shows at Platform Media. We're looking for a Head of Social to form part of our extended leadership team, in a critical and high-impact role within our ever‐growing business.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Social to build, lead and grow an industry leading and ambitious team of social experts. Someone who thinks strategically, challenges industry conventions, raises the bar for innovation and demonstrates deep knowledge across all areas of social media. You will be responsible for owning the overall strategic vision, establishing each show's tone of voice, managing content and analysing performance metrics to drive continued success and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the long‐term social strategy framework for the business, focusing on audience growth, monetisation, and market leadership.
  • Grow audience engagement and community frameworks that strengthen fan loyalty, retention and cross‐show engagement across the Platform Media portfolio.
  • Proactively, and where necessary, reactively, drive innovative content ideas and formats across diverse brands.
  • Maintain high publishing standards: shape standout social content, including copy, thumbnails, and graphics.
  • Monitor emerging trends, platforms, algorithms, and tools for competitive advantage.
  • Partner with production and editorial teams to embed social‐first thinking into content development, recording workflows and show formats.
  • Oversee influencer strategy, negotiations, and contracts for UGC supporting organic channels.
  • Own social growth and revenue targets, developing strategies that contribute directly to Platform Media's commercial objectives and profitability, across but not limited to TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube and Spotify, ensuring each channel is a revenue‐generating opportunity for the business.
  • Prioritise YouTube CMS management as a key revenue stream and strategic priority, including oversight of Content ID management systems and content rights management.
  • Partner with the commercial team to support social‐led pitches and revenue opportunities.
  • Oversee the execution of branded podcast partnership campaigns, delegating KPI tracking, reporting and optimisation to social team members while partnering with Commercial and Account Management to uphold client satisfaction and delivery standards.
  • Cultivate relationships with key social platforms for beta access, product insights, and priority support.
  • Serve as the final point for all social activity, strategic decision‐making and escalations.
  • Build and lead the framework, culture, and infrastructure for a high‐performing organic social team who are supported to achieve long‐term success.
  • Own all workforce planning needs; including hiring, resource allocation, and budget for all employees and freelancers.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members in close partnership with the People team, ensuring all growth, performance and development activities are embedded within the team.
  • Act as the social team's internal advocate, delivering company‐wide updates and driving effective cross‐department communication.
Metrics & Analytics
  • Own performance tracking and long-term planning, using data to adapt to platform and algorithm shifts quickly.
  • Own social revenue, with quarterly targets set and reported to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Provide regular reports to the Senior Leadership Team on both channel growth and monetisation.
  • Oversee cost management and reporting for social initiatives.
What we're looking for
  • Strategic thinker: Proven ability to develop innovative social media strategies across multiple platforms and brands, ensuring seamless project oversight from ideation to delivery.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading and mentoring social or creative teams, managing workflows.
  • Performance‐driven: Strong analytical skills, comfortable interpreting social metrics to inform content optimisation and drive audience growth.
  • Multi‐tasker: Capable of managing multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders simultaneously by identifying key priorities.
  • Social expert: A strong understanding of major social media platforms and their respective audiences, experience with social media management and analytics tools, and a strong understanding of paid social media strategy and execution.
  • Commercial understanding: Proven experience creating and delivering content within branded partnership campaigns, with the ability to anticipate commercial considerations, manage client expectations and work collaboratively with commercial and account management teams.
What's On Offer
  • 26 days annual leave (with yearly option to buy 5 days more).
  • Hybrid working with flexible hours.
