Role Overview

We're looking for a Creative Strategist to join Platform Media who lives and breathes culture. This is a role for someone with a deep understanding of audiences and a talent for translating that knowledge into bold, impactful creative thinking. You'll sit at the heart of our Commercial team, bridging the gap between client briefs and brilliant creative ideas, working cross-functionally alongside our Head of Strategy & Planning and Creative Director. You won't just respond to briefs - you'll shape them. You'll be the driving force that turns client ambitions into ideas and campaigns that truly cut through. You're a confident presenter, equally comfortable pitching to clients as you are presenting to internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Ideation and Development: Working alongside the wider Commercial Creative team, you will lead on the ideation & development of branded content ideas for potential clients, either proactively or through RFPs. Where applicable, apply design experience and knowledge across brief responses to bring creative concepts and strategies to life. Developing strategies and creatives for all manner of different sectors, platforms and audiences depending on the brief.
  • Commercial Growth: Work closely with Head of Strategy & Planning to identify new opportunities for growth. Ability to present and pitch proposals to both internal and external stakeholders and clients.
  • Industry Knowledge & Thought Leadership: Tap into existing knowledge of cultural, editorial, social and media trends to support and create proposals that fulfil briefs by authentically connecting them to the right audiences. Use your own knowledge to share insights & trends internally, upskilling the wider business.
  • Creative Leadership and Oversight: Where applicable, work closely with producers & talent, to ensure outputs for brand campaigns are delivered according to clients’ expectations and in line with campaign objectives. Being a source of expertise in creative partnerships – for the wider business and our clients. Working alongside the production team, act as creative oversight for a project post-sign off, being the creative lead on the project end to end, from ideation through to delivery. Attend shoots where necessary, primarily in the UK but with possible overseas travel.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience within a creative team at a publisher, media or creative agency.
  • Experience working in branded content.
  • A proven track-record of responding to client briefs and creating creative content campaigns.
  • Strong storytelling skills.
  • Strong communication and excellent deck-building, design, presenting, and copywriting skills.
  • A creative, open, collaborative and curious approach - this is an ever-changing fast-paced company and we value people who listen and collaborate with an open mind.
  • Understand the world of digital and use social channels as part of everyday life, keeping on top of content trends e.g. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X.
  • The ability to focus on the detail while also keeping the big picture in mind.

  • Collaboration: A highly collaborative and open approach, able to work effectively across commercial, creative and production teams as well as with external clients and talent.
