£29,570 - £32,855 per annum (depending on experience) Full Time, Permanent. Home based with occasional travel to Worcester/Solihull offices for meetings as required.

We are looking for a Buyer to join our central buying function and support Platform Housing Group to deliver quality and value for money, freeing up capability in our customer‑facing teams by sourcing the right goods and services at the right price.

As a Buyer in our Central Buying Team you will be responsible for purchasing goods, materials, and services to meet the Group’s needs, considering price, quality, delivery, and ensuring continuity in our supply chain in line with our Group Purchasing Policy and Procurement Strategy.

In this role you will work alongside our Vendor Management Team to monitor and enforce the Group’s buying controls, collaborate across the Group, and deliver value for money and efficiencies, ensuring an excellent buying experience for internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar purchasing/buying role (ideal but not essential)
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to prioritise workload
  • Self‑motivated to deliver against targets
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Tenacious, proactive, adaptable to change, and able to contribute ideas for continuous improvement

While this role is home based you should have the ability to travel to Group offices and other locations as required. Group offices are located at Birmingham Business Park, Solihull, and Central Park, Worcester.
