Platform Property Care needs an experienced Multi Skill Trades Carpenter based in Leicester and the surrounding area to join our Repairs & Maintenance team and help us maintain and improve our homes, ensuring our customers' homes are repaired to a great standard. You will be a Multi Skill Trades Carpenter with a focus on carpentry, but experience in other trades is an advantage as you will be delivering Multi‑Trade repairs and maintenance. The role is varied. No two days will be the same and you will meet a wide range of customers. It is a demanding task and our expectations are high. In return, you will have the support of a great team.

We want somebody who can:

  • A team player, you will be hardworking and keen to learn with a can‑do attitude.
  • Working in people's homes, you will need to be friendly, approachable, and possess good communication and customer‑service skills.
  • You should also be organised and recognise the importance of delivering work right the first time.

  • Basic salary of up to £36,848 per annum (dependent on experience) plus opportunity to earn more from out‑of‑hours and voluntary overtime.

Requirements

  • NVQ L2 Carpentry.
  • Experience as a Carpenter in the building trade, either as a dedicated or multi‑skilled Carpenter.
  • Experience working for a Social Landlord, housing association or council.
  • Associated trade skills in plumbing, plaster patching, decorating and wall tiling.
  • Experience delivering multi‑trade work.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to keep jobs on track.
  • The drive to ensure works are completed quickly and efficiently.
  • Good IT skills – experienced using a PDA and Microsoft Outlook email.
  • Full current valid driving licence – essential for this mobile role.
  • DBS check required as you will be working within customers' homes.

There is also the opportunity to earn additional income from being on the out‑of‑hours rota, which is required. This role is for a team covering Leicester, so you would need to live in the area.
