Join Platform Property Care and play a key role in our growing Estates team. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Environmental & Waste Manager to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape and deliver our waste services ensuring they are fully compliant, efficient, cost‑effective and environmentally responsible, supporting a more sustainable future for the organisation.
You will lead a team of trade operatives, overseeing day‑to‑day operations while driving performance, supporting staff development and ensuring full compliance with health, safety and regulatory standards. Working collaboratively across PPC, you will partner with colleagues in sustainability and waste functions and act as a key link across directorates including Compliance, Health & Safety, Assets, PPC and Procurement.
In this role, you will help embed continuous improvement, enhance sustainability performance, reduce waste across the supply chain and support the transition towards a more circular waste management model.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for all aspects of waste management, including the planning, coordination and reporting of waste collection performance across all waste streams.
- Managing team performance through regular check‑ins, 1:1s, coaching and development, using tools such as the Multi Skill Framework.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and quality standards through regular briefings, checks and accurate record keeping.
- Fostering a positive, inclusive team culture by encouraging engagement, recognising contributions and responding to feedback.
This is a mobile role requiring regular travel across our Estates, as well as travel to group offices, particularly Worcester and Solihull, for meetings and training as required.
Key requirements:
- WAMITAB / CIWM Level 3–4 qualification, or specialist waste-related training (e.g. Duty of Care and Hazardous Waste Management).
- Experience managing waste services within a housing, residential, or facilities management environment.
- Proven experience managing a mobile or geographically dispersed workforce, including performance management, coaching, and staff development.
- Experience leading a multi‑site or locality‑based service, with responsibility and accountability for operational delivery.
