Start your career as an Electrician with a team that will support you every step of the way. We are looking for an Apprentice Electrician - EICR to join our EICR team based in Worcester and covering Worcestershire. Are you practical, hands‑on, and ready to learn a skilled trade? Do you want to earn a recognised qualification while working for one of the Midlands' leading property maintenance teams? Join Platform Property Care (PPC) as an Apprentice Electrician - EICR and take the first step toward a successful, long‑term career.

PPC is part of Platform Housing Group, the largest social housing association in the Midlands. With over 50,000 homes and 120,000 customers, we're committed to delivering safe, high‑quality homes and providing great service to our communities.

As an Apprentice Electrician in the EICR team, you will learn how to maintain customers' homes to a high and safe standard. Day‑to‑day, you will:

  • Work alongside qualified Electricians on testing and producing periodic testing reports
  • Assist with electrical repairs in domestic properties
  • Learn how to diagnose faults and complete repairs safely
  • Produce work to high standards while providing excellent customer service
  • Build confidence and practical skills with the support of an experienced mentor

No previous experience is needed — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

You will study the Level 3 Electrical Installation Apprenticeship (up to 4 years) at Hereford & Ludlow College (Hereford Campus) or a similar provider, attending college one day a week while gaining hands‑on experience for the rest of the week. Once you successfully complete your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for permanent roles within PPC. We have a strong track record of offering permanent employment to our apprentices, and we'll continue to support your development as you progress.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong organisation and time management
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • A commitment to delivering great customer service
  • A full driving licence is ideal — but not essential to start. Because our operatives are mobile, you will need to work towards achieving this. You should also live in or close to Worcester, as this is where the team is based.

As a Platform Apprentice, you will:

  • Earn while you learn
  • Have access to a Health and Dental Plan
  • Receive an NUS Apprentice Card (discounts and perks)
  • Benefit from fully supported training and development
  • Access a wide range of opportunities across the wider organisation
  • Get involved in networking groups, events, and community projects
  • Be part of a supportive team that values your contribution

Working with us is more than just a job — you'll be helping us build strong communities and making a real difference to people's lives.

You only need to complete a short application form — no CV required. We'll ask you a few questions about why you're interested in the role. If shortlisted, you'll be invited to an Assessment Event on the 20th April in Worcester, which includes:

  • An interview
  • A short, friendly practical task (You don't need any technical knowledge — we just want to see your approach!)

If we receive a high number of applications, the vacancy may close early — so please apply as soon as possible. Please note we can only proceed with applications who live in Worcestershire. We will have Apprentice Electrician roles available in Worcestershire (this role) and Leicester and Matlock (to be advertised within the month). Please only apply to one apprentice electrician role and then only the area you live in. Our teams are patch based.
