Home based Midlands with regular travel

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Surveyor to join our team on a fixed‐term basis until May 2027. This position within our External Contracts & Delivery team offers an exciting chance to contribute to our mission of building a better future by investing in affordable homes, services, and communities.

Responsibilities

  • You will manage investment works and related issues across a designated region to ensure our homes are maintained to a high standard, customer satisfaction is enhanced, and Platform's Asset Management Strategy is effectively developed and delivered.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the housing or construction industry
  • Knowledge of Building Safety regulations, particularly CDM, asbestos management, site safety management, and fire safety requirements, including fire risk actions
  • A sound understanding of construction and the ability to deliver a broad range of property-related activities
  • A relevant technical qualification in construction or building services (e.g. HNC/HND in Building Studies or equivalent)
  • Experience of customer consultation within a planned maintenance or construction environment
  • Knowledge of building construction, maintenance, contracts, and procurement
  • Strong management skills, with experience successfully managing project teams, external contractors, and liaising with building consultants and other professionals to deliver maintenance programmes

Working Arrangements

Although this role is home-based, you must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel to properties across the East and West Midlands, including Birmingham, Derby, Leicester, Warwick, and surrounding areas. Business travel will be reimbursed from your home address in line with HMRC mileage rates.
