Our Neighbourhood Officers are at the heart of what we do as an organisation. We have a great opportunity for a Neighbourhood Officer to join our Localities team providing a comprehensive housing management service, working with communities and neighbourhoods around Herefordshire. A large part of your role will be based in Bromyard, however you will also be required to visit customers based in your patch across Herefordshire and parts of Worcestershire.
You will be someone who takes a hands‑on approach, helping customers to manage their tenancies and improve our neighbourhoods for everyone. Most of the time you will be out and about in your patch, working closely with customers to promote sustainable tenancies and developing strong relationships with local communities.
Responsibilities
- Visiting customers, providing advice, reviewing tenancies and identifying any problems.
- Inspecting estates, raising, reporting and monitoring health and safety or safeguarding concerns to a successful conclusion.
- Developing strong relationships within local communities and working collaboratively with other agencies and Platform colleagues.
- Managing and investigating tenancy issues such as anti‑social behaviour, condition of property, fly‑tipping or safeguarding concerns.
- Undertaking new tenancy sign‑ups and accompanied viewings for new homes.
Qualifications
- Experience working in the social housing sector, particularly with a background of dealing with tenancy management, ASB and safeguarding.
- Proven ability to work closely with customers to tackle complex issues.
- Proactive, organised and able to prioritise time to meet timeframes.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused approach, understanding the importance of delivering a high standard of service.
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle or alternative means of travel.
- Basic DBS check.
