Platform Property Care now have a great opportunity for an experienced Trades Supervisor to join the leadership team in Herefordshire to support delivery of responsive repairs and voids in this area, ensuring our customer's homes are maintained and repaired to a great standard.
What could you be doing?
You will be supervising a remote multi-skill trades team, providing practical and technical support, and assisting the Service Manager to deliver the operational objectives ensuring all works are completed efficiently and effectively whilst engaging the team to bring their best. By analysing data and measuring performance, you will work closely with the trade's teams and your Service Manager to support a customer focussed maintenance service, delivering Repairs meeting the required SLAs. You will also assist the Service Manager with the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly business objectives. In conjunction with the Service Manager, your focus will be to support, coach, motivate and engage the team to achieve service objectives, embedding the Bring Your Best Values, and promoting a customer centric approach of ‘value for money' and ‘right first time.'
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting monthly 1-2-1s
- Holding absence meetings
- Supporting with and holding HR meetings
- Performance monitoring
- Resource allocation and monitoring
- Reporting relevant information to the Service Manager and escalating when required
You will be given full training on these people‑focussed activities, we just need you to bring the enthusiasm and determination to lead your team to meet and deliver against our SLA.
Working conditions:
This mobile role is based in Hereford and Leominster – so you will need to live within this area, but will require occasional travel to other regional sectors as required. This could include training and meetings at other locations including Birmingham, Worcester, Leicester, Louth, Skegness, or Matlock.

Qualifications and experience:
- A suitable trade qualification – this is essential (e.g. NVQ L2 Carpentry)
- Experience of working within a customer focussed environment
- Social Housing repairs or voids experience
- Ability to make key decisions, comfortable with responsibility and accountability for successful outcomes in service delivery
- Demonstrable experience of supervising or managing a multi-skill trades team and leading by example is desirable
- Excellent problem‑solving ability, a solutions‑focussed approach and comfortable working within a continuous improvement environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop good working relationships
- IT Literacy is a must, experience with EXCEL and other Microsoft packages
- As this is a mobile role a full current valid driving licence is essential
- As you will be working within Customer's homes this role requires a DBS check.
