We’re looking for an exceptional leader to join us as our Head of Surveying on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role, driving excellence across our building surveying function and providing strategic direction during a critical time of change and growth.

You’ll lead and inspire four Senior Surveyors and their teams, promoting high standards, consistency, and best practice across all areas of work. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of our building surveying service, embedding a strong culture of professional development, and ensuring that our customers’ homes are safe, compliant, and well maintained.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the surveying function, setting clear direction and standards.
  • Lead, mentor and support the Senior Surveyors, creating a high-performing, collaborative culture.
  • Establish, embed and continuously improve best practice processes across all surveying activities.
  • Develop and implement a robust competency framework for surveyors at all levels.
  • Accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the portfolio of projects under £25,000, as part of the wider PPC team, through an established supply chain, ensuring quality, value for money, and timely completion.
  • Drive professional growth and create clear career pathways for the surveying team.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, regulation and industry standards, including health and safety.
  • Work closely with Platform colleagues across asset management, repairs, and compliance to deliver a joined-up service.

About you:

  • A qualified and experienced building surveyor with significant leadership experience.
  • Strong track record of leading multi-site teams and driving professional excellence.
  • Skilled in designing and embedding frameworks, processes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Passionate about developing people and building capability.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality homes and services for customers.

Although this role is home-based, you will be required to travel to our Group offices and other locations across our stock areas as needed to meet and engage with the team.
