Grounds Maintenance Operative

Calling all Grounds Maintenance Operatives in Shustoke! Platform Property Care has a permanent position for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our Grounds Maintenance Team based in Shustoke providing high quality grounds maintenance and associated estates services in the Birmingham area.

What Could You Be Doing?

You will be responsible for maintaining landscaped and communal green areas to a high standard in and around our estates. Your duties will include tractor and pedestrian grass maintenance, brush cutting/strimming, hedge cutting, shrub pruning, planting, weeding and weed control, and litter picking.

Qualifications & Requirements

• You will be a team player, hard working, with a can‑do attitude.
• You will be motivated and passionate about making a difference to our external landscape and love working outdoors to create great looking environments for our customers.
• You will have a full UK driving licence – essential as this is a mobile role.
• You will live within a reasonable commutable distance of our Shustoke depot.
• You will really enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions (suitable uniform provided).
• You have good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Relevant and demonstrable grounds maintenance experience, including the use of appropriate plant and machinery, ideally for a local authority or housing association.
• Optional advantages: gardening/horticultural skills or PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates.

Working Pattern

Permanent annualised contract with two seasonal patterns:

• Summer (March – November) 42.5 hours a week Monday to Friday
• Winter (December – February) 32.5 hours a week Monday to Friday

*The advertised salary of £26,883 is made up of your base salary of £26,319 per annum and an additional payment of £564 per annum, pro rata.
