Can you lead a team of Catering and Retirement Villages professionals? We have an exciting opportunity for a Retirement Villages Team Leader to support a team of colleagues across multiple sites to deliver a high-quality Catering and Housing service.

As a Team Leader, you will line manage a team of catering colleagues and relief housing officers, ensuring excellent service delivery and smooth day-to-day running of operations across the Retirement Villages.

What could you be doing?

Your role as a Team Leader will require you to lead a team across multiple sites. This will involve proactively coaching and supporting your team, helping to create and sustain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This will be done through regular team meetings, 1:1s and performance reviews.

In the role, you will work with catering professionals to ensure a high-quality food service is provided and that full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards is maintained. You will also be responsible for managing budgets, stock control and rotas to ensure effective service delivery, as well as developing menus that reflect our customers' requirements.

As a Team Leader, you will co‐ordinate the provision of relief housing officers to ensure there is effective cover of your schemes during periods of absence, annual leave and emergencies. You will work with the relief housing officers to ensure accurate record keeping of building checks, health and safety tasks, and reporting of safeguarding.

Where is this role based?

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work across multiple sites to work alongside your teams. The majority of your time will be spent at Clarence Park in Malvern, The Rose Gardens in Hereford and Meadow Court in Worcester. Our Clarence Park scheme has desk and office facilities to allow you to complete administrative tasks and in‐person 1:1s. You will also be required on occasion to travel to some of our sites with managed catering services to ensure these are run effectively. This will include schemes in the Midlands and Lincolnshire.

What are some things we need from you?

  • Experience supervising teams, ideally gained within a Catering, Housing or Care background.
  • A food safety qualification, ideally at level 3 but candidates at level 2 can be considered.
  • Experience of managing rotas and arranging cover to ensure operations.
  • Experience of maintaining compliance in areas such as food safety, health and safety, safeguarding or building checks.
  • The ability to lead and motivate a team across multiple locations.
  • An effective communicator with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders and employees.
  • Due to the nature of the role, you will need to have a driving licence and be able to travel easily around the patch.
  • An enhanced DBS check is required.
