We are currently looking for a Buyer to join our central buying function and support Platform Housing Group to deliver quality and value for money, freeing up capability in our customer-facing teams, by sourcing the right goods and services at the right price.

As a Buyer in our Central Buying Team function you will be responsible for purchasing goods, materials, and services to ensure the Group’s needs are met, considering price, quality, delivery, ensuring continuity in our supply chain in line with our Group Purchasing Policy and Procurement Strategy.

In this varied role, you will work alongside our Vendor Management Team to monitor and enforce the Group’s buying controls. You’ll collaborate across the Group and deliver value for money and efficiencies, ensuring our internal stakeholders have a good buying experience where they get the right goods and services at the right price whilst ensuring compliance.

Some of the things we are looking for:

  • Experience of working in a similar purchasing/buying role would be ideal but not essential
  • Ability to work confidently in developing and managing relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to prioritise workload
  • Be self-motivated to deliver against targets
  • Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience of using source to pay software such as Proactis would be beneficial

While this role is home based, you should have the ability to travel to Group offices and other locations as required. Our Group offices are located at Birmingham Business Park Solihull and Central Park, Worcester.
