£42,160 - £46,844 per annum (depending on experience). Home based with infrequent travel to Solihull/Worcester office as required. We are looking for an experienced QA Test Engineer to ensure new and updated systems for Platform Housing Group (PHG) services are rigorously tested, functional, stable, and ready for release. The role involves developing and executing test scripts, identifying and managing defects, validating business scenarios, and supporting smooth service transitions. You will apply security and performance tests, carry out automation and regression testing on internally developed tools and applications, and integrate security best practices into the agile delivery process. Additionally, you will support and enhance the quality assurance process by planning, designing, and executing manual and automated tests as part of continuous integration and deployment practices.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing test scripts for new and updated systems.
  • Identifying, tracking, and managing defects throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Validating business scenarios and ensuring functional stability.
  • Conducting non‑functional testing, including security and performance assessments.
  • Performing automated and regression testing using tools such as Selenium.
  • Collaborating with Application Development and other teams as part of agile delivery.
  • Documenting test cases, results, and supporting documentation for future reference.
  • Meeting deadlines and prioritising workloads to meet release schedules.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in QA test/automation roles.
  • Experience creating, updating, and executing test cases and scripts.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing tools such as Selenium.
  • Experience testing within D365 and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, SQL, KQL, and scripting.
  • Experience in performance and security testing, functional, usability, regression, and UI test types.
  • Ability to write support documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder liaison and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritise tasks.

Benefits and Logistics

Travel to the group offices at Birmingham Business Park and Central Park, Worcester, may be required for infrequent meetings, with mileage reimbursement in line with current Inland Revenue rates. Role is remote with occasional site visits.
