Are you passionate about making a difference and improving our Neighbourhoods? Do you have experience leading teams to make a real difference? We are looking for an inspiring Housing Operations Manager to join our established team. You will lead a passionate group of Neighbourhood Officers and Localities Operations Coordinators, driving great performance and ensuring our customers receive the best possible housing service.
Why does this role matter? This role is all about leadership, collaboration, and making a difference. In this role, you will lead a team to deliver high-quality tenancy and neighbourhood management services across our Localities Portfolio. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to support sustainable communities and improve service delivery. You will play a vital part in maintaining compliance with housing legislation, safeguarding standards, and operational excellence, ensuring that every customer interaction reflects our commitment to quality and care. You will work alongside other Operation Managers across the Group to ensure there is consistency in your approach.
What could you be doing as Housing Operations Manager? You will manage performance and risk, whilst driving innovation and continuous improvement. You will also respond to complaints and enquiries, lead on audits, and contribute to strategic projects. This is a visible leadership role where you will model our values, promote collaboration, and help shape the future of our housing services. You will work closely with Property Care and other teams to deliver seamless services across the localities model — helping to create safer, better-connected communities. Your week will be varied: from supporting your team with complex tenancy cases, to leading meetings in our Birmingham Business Park office, to building relationships with key partners such as local authorities and the police. The role brings the opportunity to work with other community groups, bringing together strategy and operational objectives.
Where is this role based? Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work occasionally from our Birmingham Business Park office to work alongside your team and wider Platform colleagues. The rest of your role will be a mix of working on patch with your colleagues or working from home. You will also have a strong geographic and socio-economic knowledge of Staffordshire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands.
What are we looking for from you?
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, driving performance, and supporting staff wellbeing and development.
- Strong knowledge of housing law, tenancy management, safeguarding, and community engagement, with the ability to apply this in practice.
- Full UK driving licence and based within the Staffordshire, Warwickshire or West Midlands area.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels.
- Organised and resilient, capable of handling multiple priorities across a wide geographical area and using technology to improve service delivery.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (e.g., CIH Level 4 or CPD).
- Passionate and solution-focused leader, committed to delivering outstanding housing services and motivating teams to achieve positive outcomes.
What are some of our great benefits?
- Up to 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) with the opportunity to buy and sell leave.
- Family friendly policies including generous Paternity, Maternity, Shared Parental and Adoption leave plus 3 days paid Urgent Domestic Leave.
- Medicash membership for all employees which includes access to an employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership and exclusive discounts.
- Health Cash Plan worth up to £1700 p/a with cashback for dental, optical, physio and complementary therapies and more.
- Pension contribution scheme with employer contributions of up to 12% (inclusive of life assurance and dependent on employee contributions).
- Learning and Development opportunities.
- Salary sacrifice electric vehicle scheme.
- Employee reward and recognition scheme with wellbeing hub and discount from a wide range of retailers.
