Mental Health Crisis Case Worker (Waking Nights) • Cardiff, UK
Linden House is a crisis support house comprising a 4‑bed residence in Whitchurch, Cardiff that offers a short‑term therapeutic alternative to hospital for people experiencing a crisis in their mental health.
We will offer a safe and homely environment that is responsive to people’s needs and alleviates distress.
Linden House will provide a space for individuals to connect with others, take time out and be heard.
Staff will work alongside people to understand what may be contributing to their distress and take steps to make changes for when they return home.
We are looking for a Case Worker (3 x wake nights per week) to join the team.
This role is a permanent waking night position, working exclusively overnight shifts to provide support and ensure the safety and wellbeing of individuals accessing the service throughout the night.
The role involves providing emotional support to people experiencing distress, offering a safe space where people can talk through what has happened, providing practical support to address issues contributing to a person's distress, and helping them develop plans to improve their situation and prevent future crises.
This is a waking night position with staff expected to remain awake and on duty throughout the duration of each shift.
The post holder will provide overnight support, crisis intervention, and responsive emotional and practical support to individuals staying at Linden House as and when needed.
The role includes periods of lone working, with a sleep‑in colleague available on site to provide support when needed.
