Company Description: PLASTIC FAN CO. LIMITED (THE) is a manufacturing company based in Hamstead, Birmingham, B42. We manufacture custom process plant for chemical processing/metal finishing, e.g. process tanks and fume extraction systems, manual and fully automated, as well as other plastic equipment and solutions for a range of industrial applications.
Role Description: As an AutoCAD Drafter you will create and update technical drawings for the relevant projects, these can vary from simple singular items to a complete process line. The role is part time, 2 or 3 days per week (open to discussion), office based in Hamstead. Standard hours are 7:30am - 4:30pm, however this can be flexible to suit the right candidate. Hourly rate is £18-£23 per hour depending on level of experience.
Daily tasks include:
- Interpreting sketches and written specifications to generate CAD drawings for customer approval or for engineers to manufacture against.
- Maintaining organised drawing folders for future reference.
- Answering the phone if required.
- Some interaction with customers and suppliers to support the company director when needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Technical Drawing and general Drawing, with the ability to translate design concepts into clear, precise CAD documentation.
- Experience producing Shop Drawings for manufacturing or fabrication environments, ensuring dimensional accuracy and clarity for production teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software; experience with 2D drafting and familiarity with 3D modeling is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple drawing revisions and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with engineering, design, and shop-floor personnel.
