We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Recycling Operative to join our plastics recycling team. The successful candidate will support the sorting, processing, and reprocessing of recycled plastic materials, ensuring quality standards are met while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a growing and environmentally focused industry.

Duties

  • Operate recycling machinery and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines and operational procedures
  • Sort plastic materials by type and grade to ensure correct processing
  • Assist with shredding, regrinding, compounding, processing, and packaging recycled plastic products
  • Carry out quality control checks to ensure processed materials meet required specifications
  • Keep work areas clean and organised to maintain safety and operational efficiency
  • Support the team in meeting daily production and recycling targets
  • Report equipment faults, contamination issues, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
