We are looking for a practical and reliable Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Assistant with a background in mechanics or mechanical engineering. The role will involve the repair, maintenance and servicing of tools, gardening equipment, ride-on mowers and other machinery. You should be confident working with mechanical equipment, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs and routine maintenance.

Key requirements:

  • Mechanical or engineering experience/background
  • Practical, hands-on approach to maintenance and repairs
  • Experience working with tools, machinery or gardening equipment
  • Ability to repair and maintain ride-on mowers and similar equipment
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with manual lifting and physical work
  • Reliable and able to work independently

Shifts and pay

  • Hours: 7:30am - 3:30pm
  • Days: 3 days per week, Monday-Friday
  • Pay: Option 1 Starting at £12.71, increasing after 12 weeks to £14.50
  • Annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata)
  • Option 2 Starting at £14.24, increasing after 12 weeks to £16.25
  • Overtime rates apply after 13 weeks. Pay rate includes rolled-up holiday pay, meaning holiday is paid weekly as earned and no extra pay is given during leave.
