We have an exciting new opportunity to work as a Production Cleaner in a busy food production company based in Barking. We are looking for an energetic, experienced person to strengthen their friendly team.
Your main role: Responsible for the cleanliness of all designated areas and equipment using appropriate equipment and/or materials as supplied in line with cleaning schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness with assigned areas by ensuring that relevant work instructions/schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed.
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of all washrooms/toilet facilities, locker rooms, canteens, kitchens, offices, and other common areas including warehouse.
- Ensure cleanliness of factory production areas, including but not limited to production equipment, surfaces, overheads, etc.
- Liaise daily with other members of the production in identifying areas/procedures requiring improvement to allow improved performance.
- Ensure the stocks of cleaning chemicals are stored safely and report any shortfalls.
- Ensure all products are used and stored in accordance with the relevant COSHH Regulations.
- Ensure completion of all hygiene related documents, i.e., daily check-list reports.
- Observe and adhere to all H&S procedures, ensuring you are working in a safe manner, that personal safety and that of others is a key priority.
- Carry out duties in line with SOP and schedules, ensuring efficient and correct use of all materials and machinery.
- Attend appropriate training sessions pertaining to the post. Also undertake any additional training the company may see appropriate such as team building, collaboration exercises and relevant production training or refresher courses.
- To carry out such ad hoc duties that may be required by the business from time to time.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience of working within a similar role within the food industry sector.
- Good interpersonal/verbal/written skills.
- Good understanding of Food Safety and Hygiene.
- Demonstrate high standard of hygiene.
- Self-reliant, ability to work both as an individual and a team member.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Can-do attitude and willingness to support the team in times of demand.
- Strong safety-conscious working practices, always adhering to health and safety.
Qualifications:
- COSHH certificate holder (essential).
- Food safety certificate – level 2 or above (desirable).
- Working at height experience preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
Hours are Sunday to Thursday 9pm - 5am/6am.
Salary: £12.60 per hour.
