The Opportunity
Planview’s growing EMEA Professional Services team has an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Manager to join the organization.
The successful candidate will become part of the fast‑paced, high‑energy EMEA Professional Services team, playing a pivotal role in linking Planview’s core value streams to customer outcomes and ensuring value is delivered to our customers. The Engagement Manager is a customer‑facing domain expert who is delivery‑focused and outcome‑driven, with a passion for delighting customers through the successful delivery of Planview products and services.
Implementations will include Planview solutions such as Project Portfolio Management and Agile Portfolio Management. The successful candidate will demonstrate thought leadership and innovative approaches, consistently delivering exceptional customer experiences at every moment that matters.
In this customer‑obsessed role, the Engagement Manager will work to understand each customer’s desired environment, methodologies, processes, and portfolio or program management approach. They will lead a matrixed Professional Services team to guide customers through the design and implementation of their solutions.
The role carries full accountability for delivering customer implementations from outset to completion, ensuring customers realise value in the shortest possible timeframe while achieving their business outcomes and goals.
The successful candidate will continually strive to exceed Planview’s customer expectations while positively influencing revenue and profitability.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, balancing diverse needs to drive the success of both our customers and our business.
What You’ll Do
- Manage multiple Professional Services projects from initiation to closure, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget and customer satisfaction.
- Apply PMI, PRINCE2, and SAFe methodologies & principles in customer projects, breaking down tasks, creating project plans, and managing risks using these frameworks.
- Maintain PMI, PRINCE2 certifications.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, issues/risk registers and budgets; proactively manage project activity to deliver within as‑sold margins.
- Ensure resource requirements are reflected accurately in the project plan and maintain accurate resource allocations.
- Lead project teams, assigning tasks, providing direction, and monitoring progress; ensure project governance structure (e.g., steering committee) is put into place and executed.
- Proactively identify and address project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed; elevate at‑risk implementations to ensure timely awareness for PS leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing client expectations and relationships.
- Facilitate project meetings, including kick‑off, status, and steering committee meetings; prepare and deliver project status reports and presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support the development of project proposals and contribute to business development efforts.
- Proactively manage project financials to ensure accuracy of revenue forecasts; provide early notice to PS LT of potential slippage, project delays, issues and escalations.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong conceptual and communication skills, including the ability to articulate the value of Planview solutions and deliver consulting presentations to senior management.
- Ability to develop relationships across all customer levels to ensure responsible ownership of solution deployment.
- Thought leadership on methods and approaches that enable customers to realize value from project, portfolio, and resource management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to closure.
- In‑depth understanding of implementation approach elements such as business outcome definition, linking key analytics to business outcomes, workshop facilitation, and process design.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to resolve conflicting issues and requirements across diverse personalities.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and show patience in varied customer situations.
- Experience working independently in lean Agile transformation projects.
- Willingness to travel approximately 60 %.
- Experience with web‑based and cloud‑based systems, SQL and technology tools including MS Office, MS Visio, MS SharePoint, MS Reporting Services, etc.
- Experience with legacy and current ALM solutions (Jira, ADO, Rally, CollabNet, HP‑ALM, Jira Align, VersionOne, Octane, etc.).
- Experience guiding teams on Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, SAFe, etc.).
- Strong collaborator and team player working with the broader Planview consulting team to ensure customer success.
- Prior experience with project governance, portfolio management, and financial reporting tools.
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum six years of client‑facing consulting experience with demonstrable results across multiple industries.
- Broad understanding of software implementation, quality assurance, business process analysis, organization change management, and system integrations.
- Cross‑functional knowledge of technical domains related to Planview products, including strategic planning, lean portfolio management, project/resource management, and enterprise architecture.
- Ability to learn and apply industry knowledge and business understanding to drive revenue.
- Ability to acquire deep technical knowledge of supported products.
- Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, SPC, LPM, CSM, CPO, PMI) are a plus.
- Experience integrating ALM tools and APIs (e.g., Tasktop, OpsHub, ConnectAll) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications or industry designations (e.g., PMP, CPA, PRINCE2, TOGAF, ITIL).
