Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Service Manager to oversee our horticultural maintenance operations. This role is vital in ensuring our clients' sites are maintained to the highest standards and that we provide a seamless delivery service, supporting our mission to be the number one supplier for quality plant care in London.

This is a varied position requiring strong leadership and management, operational and logistics skills, procurement support, high level customer service and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the efficient scheduling and task allocation of an in-house team of horticultural technicians, ensuring maximum productivity and profitability.
  • Manage subcontracted maintenance work, handling supplier liaison and keeping assessments of the quality of work carried out.
  • Manage an in-house delivery team responsible for carrying out regular plant deliveries to sites across London, fulfilling a programme of routine tree maintenance and providing pest control treatments when required.
  • Facilitate the procurement and delivery process of plant replacements, ensuring client sites remain refreshed to the highest quality within allocated cost guidelines.
  • Assist in developing maintenance protocols and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets and report on operational performance.
  • Provide high level of customer service at a leadership level, responding to queries and addressing issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support the wider Operations team and contribute to overall business growth and process development as the company expands.

Qualifications

  • Proven management experience in a maintenance service or horticultural environment.
  • Strong task management skills with the ability to oversee multiple tasks.
  • Operational knowledge related to routing, delivery service and scheduling variable teams.
  • Experience with logistics coordination, scheduling platforms and stock management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • High level customer service and client liaison skills with ability to problem-solve under pressure.
  • Strong leadership experience with a focus on team management and development.
  • Knowledge of safety standards relevant to plant maintenance.

This role would predominantly be based at our warehouse location in Greenford, West London with potential for working out of our Central London sales office in Farringdon.
