Plant Designs are London’s independent design-led plant experts, providing creative greenery and quality care to the capital’s workplaces and event spaces. Working with some of the city’s most prestigious companies, including leading Architects, Designers, FM Management and experiential event agencies. We design, install, and care for magnificent plant displays, working with over 500 clients to build life into their spaces and events. We pride ourselves on our award-winning designs and our ability, through the collaboration and experience of our team, to care for them. The team work together across commercial planting and events to provide our clients with a quality and broad ranging horticultural service. The Role: We are looking for an experienced, focused and energetic New Business Development Manager, with a passion for live events and horticultural design to join our rapidly expanding Business Development team. You will work to help original concepts come to life, bring the supply and maintenance of internal and external displays across the capital, and provide stunning event planting and Christmas displays. Objectives & Responsibilities: Represent Plant Designs’ products and services, adhering to our core values and contributing to achieve periodic sales targets and KPIs. Manage our NBD team, across planting, events and Christmas sales, as well as manage the continued development of our Design team. Join the Senior Leadership Team and help shape the future direction of Plant Designs. Lead our team that are promoting all our services as well as specific focus areas. Work with the marketing team to maximise the ongoing promotions we have as well as help develop and implement new ones. Develop an in-depth product knowledge and be able to speak with confidence on Plant Designs services to different clienteles. To build relationships with major influencers and companies within the architecture, interior design, events and commercial property sectors, and create new business opportunities. Work with our in-house graphic design team to prepare concise and accurate proposals, presentations, and other required documents that stand out against our competitors. Coordinate with sales team to ensure that targets are being exceeded, and core principles are always upheld. Work with the Head of Client Management and their team to encourage growth of our existing accounts. Working with the Horticultural Manager to develop your plant knowledge and assist on delivering exceptional client service. Working with the Production Team on large scale design projects to ensure quality aesthetics and structure. Regular attendance at networking events and trade shows to grow existing network of connections in key industries. Candidate skills and experience: 10+ years of sales experience and at least 3 years’ experience leading a successful sales team. Experience in working to and exceeding sales targets. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, time management and organisational skills. A quick learner with the initiative to work both independently and in a team. Personable and professional. The ability to manage others to reach their full potential and manage them as individuals while building a functioning team that respect and understand the core values of Plant Designs. Proficiency with sales management software and CRM. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, namely PowerPoint and Excel. Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism. Strong ability to create opportunities and manage own time/tasks. Proficient in understanding and analysing floorplans and technical drawings to accurately interpret data for quoting purposes. Experience managing workplace office projects and experience in design and build industry is desirable. Salary with commission will be OTE £75,000-£85,000 per annum, basic salary will depend on experience. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and COO as well as working in tandem with the Senior Leadership Team.
