My client is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist / Technician to join their established London studio, working on high-quality, large-scale residential, mixed-use and regeneration projects across the capital and wider UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional with a passion for detail and delivery to become part of a collaborative, design-led practice known for shaping complex urban environments.
The Role
Reporting to an Associate or Director, you will play a key role in the technical design and delivery stages (RIBA 3β6) of major residential and mixed-use schemes. Depending on your experience, you will either support or lead a project team, contributing to the production and coordination of high-quality technical information through to construction. You will work closely with designers, clients, consultants and contractors to ensure projects are compliant, well-coordinated and delivered to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing and coordinating detailed technical drawings and information in Revit
- Supporting or leading the delivery of large-scale residential and mixed-use projects
- Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations and current building safety legislation
- Coordinating with consultants, contractors and specialist subcontractors
- Contributing to technical strategy, detailing and problem-solving through RIBA stages 3β6
- Supporting quality control and design integrity through to construction and handover
About You
You will be an experienced Architectural Technologist or Technician with a strong background in the delivery of large-scale UK residential, mixed-use or regeneration projects, particularly at the later stages. You will bring excellent technical design skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to engage directly with project stakeholders.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience (Essential)
- Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience working on UK residential and regeneration projects, particularly RIBA stages 3β6
- Strong experience producing technical delivery drawings and construction detailing
- Excellent knowledge of current UK Building Regulations
- Knowledge of building safety legislation, fire safety design and Gateway procedures
- Demonstrable competence in technical detailing and coordination
- High level of competence in Revit (essential) and working knowledge of NBS
- Good understanding of RIBA work stages, particularly 3β6
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with clients, consultants and contractors
Desirable
- Awareness of industry standard construction technologies
- Experience with HSE Gateway processes and specialist warranty providers such as NHBC and LABC
- CAD proficiency and good hand-drawing skills
