Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company that focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organisations. PSI has a need for a Fixed-Wing Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, England. The Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) will support Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) under the Command and Control Mission Systems (C2MS) program. This role directly supports warfighter mission execution by sustaining, deploying, and troubleshooting mission planning systems in fast-paced and operational environments.
The MPSE will serve as a key member of the Mission Planning team, providing hands-on technical support to government customers and deploying units, including support to OCONUS locations.
Essential Functions And Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate with and augment Government personnel supporting mission planning operations.
- Receive, validate, and apply routine, pre-processed, and approved mission planning updates.
- Prepare, image, and maintain mission planning drives for deploying teams.
- Apply system images to laptops, servers, and mission devices.
- Load and validate data across mission planning servers and client systems.
- Maintain system images, replicate hard drives, and manage removable media.
- Provide direct user support for hardware, software, and process-related issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot peer-to-peer and small tactical networks.
- Maintain inventories of consumables and deployment-related IT equipment.
- Support short-notice deployments and time-sensitive operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Will have mission planning experience and technical skills qualifications with applicable experience specific to military aviation, including a DoDM 8140.03 IAT Level II certification.
- Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
- Eligible for NATO access (U.S. citizenship required).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network and/or systems administration.
- Experience supporting Special Operations, SOCOM, or C4ISR environments.
- Strong knowledge of DoD Information Assurance, policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting LAN environments.
- Familiarity with IT service management concepts (e.g., ITIL).
- Ability to travel on short notice, including OCONUS locations.
- Ability to work in operational environments with limited infrastructure.
- Experience with the following: Operating Systems: Windows 10 / Windows Server (20XX), Linux (RedHat, Kali); Networking: Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, HP; Virtualization: VMware, vCenter, vSphere.
