The role involves building a horizontal platform made up of composable primitives, focusing on design for the web. The website has become the company's largest owned channel, with significant growth in traffic and content structure.
You will own the surface end to end alongside our Lead Web Designer, which means your scope and seniority will grow as you take on more responsibility. You will design and build directly, being accountable for the performance of your work in the market, collaborating closely with product, commercial, marketing, brand, and SEO teams.
On a daily basis, you will:
- Turn briefs from commercial, product, and marketing into pages that ship across various styles, including platform verticals, campaign support, product release pages, and SEO infrastructure.
- Design and build using components, rules, and the CMS, ensuring changes compound across the site as brand and positioning evolve.
- Monitor and maintain performance, find and fix bugs, and conduct QA before changes go live.
Why come in-house? The strongest web talent often moves to agencies, but we believe better work is done in-house. Here, you own one surface for years, allowing your work to compound as the brand evolves. You are close to product and go-to-market strategies, shaping your work based on company strategy and measuring it against commercial results.
Competencies required include:
- Designing in components and rules, maintaining a tidy workflow.
- A clear eye for detail, able to identify and rectify issues independently.
- Embracing frontier technologies early and developing repeatable workflows.
- Questioning prior decisions, learning quickly, and providing direct feedback.
Technically, you must be:
- Familiar with building sites in no-/low-code web builders like Framer or Webflow, understanding components, variants, responsive behaviour, and publishing.
- Comfortable with HTML and CSS to comprehend the output of the builder.
- Fluent with AI tools, eager to leverage them to enhance workflows.
Experience with B2B or data-heavy products is advantageous, but ability and judgment are more important than years of experience.
Design Suite competencies include:
- Design & build — Framer (the site is built here).
- Design — Figma.
- AI tools — Claude & Claude Code; ChatGPT & Codex; etc.
Definition of success includes:
- Owning the monitoring, improvement, and reporting of the site's performance and technical health.
- Systematically finding and fixing website bugs before they are reported.
- Directly receiving commercial and product requests, prioritising sensibly, specifying precisely, and shipping reliably.
- Managing at least one core section of the website from proposal to measured result and ongoing enhancement.
- Ensuring consistency across pages and being able to point to specific changes made.
