The department is one of the largest and most established surgical departments, serving the central region of Singapore, with comprehensive surgical care across multiple subspecialties including Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic, Upper Gastrointestinal, Colorectal, Breast, Endocrine, Vascular, Thoracic, Plastic and Trauma Surgery. As a major teaching facility affiliated with two medical schools, the team performs operations ranging from routine procedures to complex tertiary-level surgeries, while maintaining a commitment to clinical excellence, research innovation, and continuous education. This busy trauma centre sees over 400 major trauma cases per annum.
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Singapore for a Trauma Surgery Consultant. The responsibilities include:
- Providing expert surgical care to trauma patients
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for patient management
- Mentoring junior medical staff
- Participating in case reviews
- Leading diagnostic efforts
- Ensuring the successful implementation of patient treatment plans
- Contributing to developing and implementing practices aimed at improving patient outcomes
- Maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Expertise in trauma surgery and advanced surgical techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Skills in patient assessment, diagnostic procedures, and treatment planning
- Knowledge of medical regulations and compliance standards
- Board certification or CCT in General Surgery, with specialization in Trauma Surgery, or equivalent
- Several years of clinical experience in trauma surgery settings
- Dedication to continuous learning and professional development
