The Role: As a Commodity Buyer, you will work within the Supply Chain team dealing with suppliers to ensure the cost-effective procurement of materials, goods, and services to support business requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring purchase orders are placed in a timely manner to support demand.
  • Ensuring materials arrive on the purchase order required date.
  • Maintenance of supplier details on the ERP system.
  • Building solid working relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitoring performance and managing improvements.
  • Maintaining a discipline of keeping PO delivery dates current on SAP.
  • Carrying out tasks and duties as required by Senior Management.

About You: Applicants should have excellent communication and assertiveness skills, and experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment. You will need to be proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, and demonstrate a professional and entrepreneurial attitude.

Required:

  • A good level of education, possibly with a business or procurement focus.
  • Competency in one or more of the commodity groups: Engines and Mechanicals, Composites, Marine Components.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand technical data.
  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to meet multiple project deadlines.
