Our client seeks a proactive ICT Technician to provide dedicated IT support across a group of primary schools. The role involves maintaining and improving the technology infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and offering essential IT support to teachers, staff, and students. The successful candidate will enjoy working with children, possess strong communication skills, and have a solutions‑oriented approach to ensuring effective technology use in the schools.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective 1st and 2nd line support for users, covering PCs, laptops, iPads, printers, AV equipment, peripherals, network, and software.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with ICT and AV hardware/software, including Windows, Mac OS, networking, and hardware repairs.
- Administer user accounts, perform installations and configurations, manage device imaging, and provide Office 365 support.
- Maintain system housekeeping, anti‑virus checks, and security monitoring.
- Maintain accurate tickets, inventory, and equipment checks through the IT Helpdesk system.
- Coordinate with third‑party vendors and support providers to resolve issues and ensure high‑quality service.
- Assist users with OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and other cloud services; provide onboarding/offboarding support following established guides.
- Manage your own ticket queue, ensuring all support issues are dealt with professionally and within SLA.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years in IT support, with experience in desktop support (Windows 10/11, Mac OS), networking (wired/wireless), basic server administration, and hardware repairs.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, file permissions, printer support, and Office 365 administration.
- Understanding of VLANs / QoS / VPNs.
- Experience with backup software, cloud‑managed anti‑virus/anti‑spam solutions, and network cabling.
- Excellent customer service skills to maintain a positive user experience.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, high accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Organized, self‑motivated, able to meet targets and deadlines, and able to work independently and under pressure.
