Night Shift Warehouse Manager on behalf of one of our well-established clients within the food distribution sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated warehouse professional to join a fast-paced, customer-focused operation, leading a busy night shift team within a multi-temperature warehouse environment.
The successful candidate will oversee all warehouse activities, ensuring products are picked, loaded and dispatched safely, accurately and on time to support next-day deliveries.
The Role
As the Night Shift Warehouse Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 30 warehouse colleagues, driving operational performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service.
You will work closely with warehouse supervisors, transport, supply chain and senior management to ensure the smooth running of the night operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 30 warehouse operatives and supervisors.
- Plan and coordinate all night shift activities to ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Conduct daily shift briefings covering safety, workload and operational priorities.
- Oversee the accurate picking, replenishment, loading and dispatch of products across ambient, chilled and frozen environments.
- Ensure up to 30 delivery vehicles are loaded accurately and on schedule each night.
- Monitor staffing levels, attendance and labour requirements to meet business demands.
- Carry out performance reviews, coaching and ongoing staff development.
- Manage employee performance and conduct in line with company procedures.
- Identify training needs and support succession planning within the warehouse team.
- Work collaboratively with transport, supply chain and day shift operations to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy and service levels.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and company operating procedures.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have previous management experience within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment and be confident leading large operational teams in a fast-moving setting.
- Minimum of three years' management experience within warehousing, logistics or distribution.
- Previous experience within food distribution, foodservice wholesale or FMCG is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and developing teams.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of productivity targets and budgets.
- Experience using ERP, warehouse management or stock control systems.
- IOSH, First Aid or similar Health & Safety qualifications.
- FLT or Material Handling Equipment licence.
